Drosophila melanog (pain in my ) aster

The little bastards have invaded my kitchen. I think it's from the garbage disposal. I've gotten rid of the spaghetti squash a neighbor had given us that was on the counter. Guess I have to toss the last remaining potatoes, too. They're making us nuts. They are even in the bathroom (WTF?). I hear B swatting at them when ever he goes in there. There's gotta be something that will kill them...

The ironic thing is how well they breed now. In junior HS Honors Biology, we had to breed fruit flies, separate and count males/females and do a report. The buggers all died! We had special tubes with some blue gunk in them, I followed the instructions, but noooooo. They died. Every last rotton one of them. I don't remember what I did for the report... probably outlined my procedure, and reported that they all died.

So, I guess the best way for me to kill all these damned fruit flies is to try to study them...

What is it about the bathroom? Must be the moisture, for I've never kept produce or even houseplants in the bathroom!

A saucer of red wine left out overnight seems to draw them together for me. Then I anihilate (sp?) the little turds with spray in the morning!

Red wine... that will attract all kinds of things to the kitchen LOL.

Well, I guess I have an excuse to buy some red wine...

I have a swarm of fruitflies I have been trying to get rid of too, they stay out of my bathroom but they have set up permanent camp in my kitchen and the more I kill, the more there seem to be. I hate the little bastards!
