Scrooge

C's school program was tonight. She's in chorus and they put on 'Scrooge'. She's had tons of extra after-school practices. She was a "Christmas Day Dancer" during the Ghost of Christmas Past section. She wore her Christmas dress and her ghillies. She had the song and the dance down, and was great. We were rather annoyed that there wasn't more singing, considering it was a chorus production. She was out for one song. I love that she wanted to do it, and that she's involved in this sort of thing. I will always support her and the school with music programs. Too many are being cancelled.

The chorus teacher needs to be smacked. (I am very pro-teacher, but this one needs a slap.) I understand that she's done this on a volunteer basis, but sheesh. We barely ever got practice schedules (had to threaten that C would quit a few days before the show to get the schedule), we got little guidance as to what C was supposed to wear, the kids were never on time getting out... for an educator who has been doing this for years, she really doesn't have her stuff together. Then, they had the gall to charge admission to the show. It's a 3rd 5th grade show, for heaven's sake. THEN, they didn't have enough chairs. We stood in the back of the gym for 90 minutes - trading back and forth who was holding L so she could see and who's back got a rest. Grrrr. I know... bitch bitch bitch. Yeah. Well.

I'm glad she had a good time, but man. I'll stick with volunteering for the the step dancers. Miss M knows what the hell she's doing!! (lest you think that I just bitch w/o trying to be part of the solution. I do all the art for the dancers, the photography and B does the sound for their show. I'm also C's GS leader. I do my part!)
